Herdla was cold and windy today, but it produced some nice birds. Snow Bunting, Lapland Bunting and Pied Wagtail are typical birds of the season. Lots of Oystercatchers, Lapwings and Ringed Plovers on the fields. A hunting Peregrine got them on the wings a few times.

Flesland
Fleslandskjeret produced to Iceland Gulls, one third-year and one second-year. Further some Oystercatchers and a Common Eider there. The first singing Skylarks (at least for me) at Flesland Airport and two Mute Swans at Grimseidpollen. All too far away for pics!

Signs of spring
Beautiful weather today. At Flesland no signs of the Iceland Gulls, reported yesterday. The first Starlings singing at Flesland, accompanied by a group of Fieldfare. In my garden lots of activity with a singing Wren (it survived the winter), two Long-tailed Tits and Wood Pigeons in full courtship. The resident House Sparrows fighting for their territories, in my neighbours garden

Eikangervågen
Eikangervågen is a good place to find Greater Scaup during winter. Had seventeen. In steady rain a Greater Spotted Woodpecker, a Jay and a Marh Tit among the usuals. On the way back a group of six Bean Geese at Haukåsmarken. Saw them while driving, so I couldn't identify them properly.
